Panchvati Comforts (Accommodation for the GNOME.Asia 2011 hackfest attendees)

Me and Srini: Knock knock, anyone home?

And there they were, all ready for GNOME.Asia 2011 Hackfest. They all reminded me of LOTR:Fellowship of the Ring

Allan Day, Vincent Untz, Andre Klapper, Pockey Lam, Frederic Muller, Chandni Verma, Frederic Peters, Andreas Nilsson, Ryan Lortie and Josselin Mouette, all under one roof. This is one amazing group we could have asked for GNOME.Asia 2011. Thanks to all for making it to the event.

We helped them to a nearby hotel, and enjoyed a good Indian meal. Is there one topic that we don’t discuss about!!! Politics, Food, Culture, Angry Birds gameplan, and ofcourse Cricket (the topic that has hit the whole of India). Bangalore Central, a big mall was our next destination. The 1 km walk from the hotel to Central (as suggested by the awesome Srini) never seemed to end, and we walked for close to 3 kms. But everyone seemed to enjoy the walk after a nice meal 🙂 A quick look in the mall, and back to the accommodation for most.

I canceled one of the cabs and took Fred and Pockey in an auto (tuk-tuk) as they call it. We surveyed the conference venue and looked around the huge campus. We have more things to be finalized, but that was noted for the hackfest.

The good feedback we received was everyone liked the accommodation and they were slowly getting used to the spicy food in India 🙂

Keep following the blogs on Planet GNOME We have some amazing things planned for the hackfest and conference.

Oh and yes, I love seeing their scared faces when we are in the cabs and its peak traffic time 🙂 But I am here to assure they would all be safe and happy during their stay in India. Cheers.
